My favourite wedding trends for 2026

As I’ve said before, trends should never dictate your choices but they’re certainly worth considering as a source of inspiration - so here are my top trends for the upcoming wedding season.

Weekend-long events:

Expand the celebration into a multi-day event with welcome dinners, brunches, or after-parties. I have planned many multi-day weddings in London and abroad and I can promise they do not disappoint.

Elevated food and drink:

Use local ingredients, family recipes, and signature cocktails to tell a story through the menu.

Intimate gatherings:

Focus on high-quality, meaningful touches for smaller guest lists, allowing for more intentional interactions like a multi-day wedding.

Multi-look wardrobes:

Brides are choosing multiple outfits for different moments of the day from a statement ceremony gown to a sleek reception dress and a fun after-party look. Having a planner to manage the logistics of these outfit changes can be invaluable, ensuring everything runs seamlessly and allowing you to enjoy each transition without any stress.

Transformative gowns:

Dresses that can be changed to create different looks, like with removable sleeves or skirts, are popular for both style and sustainability.

3D floral and textural details:

Textured floral appliqués on gowns, veils, and skirts are a romantic and tactile trend.

Bold and individual styles:

Expect a move towards statement pieces, rom sculptural gowns to bold tailoring and accessories.

Luxe draping and statement seating:

Extravagant draping and creative seating charts are being used for a luxurious feel.

Bold color palettes:

Alongside neutrals, expect pops of jewel tones and other vibrant colors.  I love working with Ricky Paul Flowers , he could make magic with these colour palettes.

Vintage-inspired details:

Incorporate vintage touches through heirloom jewelry, antique tableware, or subtle details in stationery.

Creative favors:

Replace traditional favors with thoughtful options like seed packets or donations to a charity.

Unique stationery:

Stationery is becoming a design statement with artistic typography or hand-painted details. Check our Kate Hall Designs for some amazing examples.
